Global girl group Cosmosy has been selected as the rookie that the world will pay attention to in 2025.
According to the agency on the 12th, Cosmosi was named in the ‘Global Breakout Searches: K-Pop Debuts’ category of ‘Year in Search 2025’ announced by Google. The fact that a team that debuted less than a year ago is included in the list proves the explosive interest of music fans around the world in Cosmosi.
Cosmosi announced its unique world view with the pre-debut song ‘zigy=zigy’ last February, and began its full-fledged activities by releasing the official debut single ‘Lucky=One‘ last April. In particular, despite being composed of four Japanese members (Himesha, Dihana, Kamion, and Aimei), the group was evaluated as opening a new horizon for the 6th generation idols as a ‘hybrid group’ that combined the K-pop system with multilingual lyrics that freely move between Korean, Japanese, and English.
Cosmosi released a new single ‘Physics ~ 物理的な ~’ (Physics ~ Physical Story ~) on the 28th of last month and is actively engaged in activities. ‘Physics ~ 物理的な ~’ is a pre-released song from the second EP ‘of the world’ scheduled to be released in March next year. It is a song that expresses the feelings of love encountered in an unfamiliar world by comparing them to physical laws such as gravity. The ‘oriental science fiction’ worldview, which unfolds on top of sensuous sounds that go back and forth between house and pop, shows Cosmo City’s unique identity.
Their growth is steep. Last July, they were invited to the ‘LA Anime Expo 2025’ in the United States and met with global fans, and in August, they performed tirelessly at ‘a-nation 2025’, Japan’s largest music festival, and released their first EP album ‘the a(e)nd’ in September. The results of this search term selection show that the organic combination of ‘music + visual + world view’ that Cosmo City has been introducing has been successful in the global market. It is analyzed that the unique move that began with the debut song ‘Lucky=One’ triggered search and exploration by listeners around the world.
