Forlì was colored with enthusiasm and participation for the 25th edition of Corritalia. The Franco Agosto urban park was invaded on Saturday morning by around a thousand people, including students, teachers, parents and carers, coming from six lower secondary schools in the city. The event, promoted by Aics – Italian Sports Culture Association and organized by the Aics Forlì-Cesena Provincial Committee, once again confirmed itself as a very heartfelt event, capable of uniting sport, sociality and educational values.
The protagonists are the children, engaged in non-competitive running races divided into classes, before the final moment with the traditional collective fast walk together with teachers and families. A festive atmosphere accompanied the entire morning, with cheering, colors and a spirit of sharing. At the end of the tests there will be awards ceremony: medals for the top three in each category and vouchers for the purchase of sports material, for a total value of 950 euros, intended for the institutes with the greatest participation. The highest number of attendees was the Benedetto Croce institute with 480 participants, followed by Zangheri with 174, Caterina Sforza with 160, Mercuriale with 102, Orceoli with 74 and finally La Nave with 7.
The event was attended by the councilor for education and youth policies Paola Casara, the councilor for sport Kevin Bravi, the councilor Leonardo Gallozzi, the deputy commander of the local police Andrea Gualtieri, the president of AICS Forlì-Cesena Catia Gambadori, the national coordinator Sport Filippo Tiberia, the regional president of AICS Emilia-Romagna Maurizio Mancini, the president of the national equality commission of AICS Viviana and Neri and Fabrizia Grandi for Coni.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the event was enriched with a creative competition aimed at students, called to reflect on the theme “Environment, health and sport as the heritage of cities”. The three best entries were awarded, while the winning drawing by Giacomini Elena, a student of the Mercuriale school in class 2A, will become the official image of the Forlì poster for 2027. The contribution of the civic assistants, Sports Veterans and Fidal judges is fundamental, in addition to the support of Famila for refreshments.
Corritalia is currently taking place in numerous Italian cities, under the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment, Sport and Energy Security. More than a simple race, Corritalia confirms itself as an opportunity to promote sporting activity, respect for the environment and a healthy lifestyle among young people, while at the same time strengthening the bond with the territory.
