The Core Ultra 3 205 is the most affordable Intel processor for the LGA 1851 platform. Based on the Arrow Lake architecture, it is positioned on the entry level is could well appeal due to its good performance/price ratio. A first test arrives.
Core Ultra 3 205, presentation
Under the hood, we find a hybrid architecture combining four p-cores “lion cove” (with 3 MB of cache L2 each) and a cluster of four e-cores “Skymont” sharing 4 MB of L2 cache.
The whole is accompanied by a l3 cache of 15 MB and benefits from boost frequencies of up to 4.9 GHz for p-cores and 4.2 GHz for e-cores. On the graphic side, Intel opts for an IGPU with 2 Xe cores while the equipment also includes an NPU delivering a power of 13 tops. It is known since it is found on the higher -end processors of the series.
The first benchmarks
The first tests show flattering results. Under Cinebench R23, it provides muscular gains compared to Core i3-14100 (+48%), while also improving simple heart performance (+16%).

However, the most important surprise comes from his IGPU. Under 3DMARK TIME SPY, it offers a 75 % increase in performance against its big brother, a considerable leap for an entry -level processor.
