Content Rating for Videos – Help Center

You can apply content rating to individual videos or set a default rating for all your uploaded content, informing your audience of the video’s content. What to Know Before Ranking Your Videos

Before applying a rating to your videos, please note the following:

  • Content classification: We ask you to apply content classification to your videos and live events, and indicate whether it contains advertising or AI-generated content. To learn more about content rating, see About content rating.
  • Access in Some regions: If your video doesn’t have a rating, viewers in some countries (such as the UK and EU) will need to sign in to a Vimeo account to watch it, even if it’s set to Public.
  • Purpose: Once you select a video’s rating, you cannot set it to “Not yet rated.”

How to apply content rating to a single video

You can set the content rating for any video, from the settings page.

  1. Go to your Library.
  2. Select the video you want to classify to open the video settings page.
  3. Scroll the screen to the bas to the Content section.
  4. Select the drop-down menu and choose All audiences or Pour adults.
  5. If you select For adults, checkboxes for specific alerts will appear; check all options that apply to your video.

  7. If your video contains an ad, select the box next to Contains a advertisement.
  8. Your settings will be saved automatically.

How to set the default content rating for all uploads

You can set a default rating that will be applied to all videos you upload.

  1. Access the Parameters of your account.
  2. Select tab Videos, then choose the Default Settings subtab online.
  3. Under the Content Rating heading, select the appropriate rating from the menu drop-down.
