After winning the Lizzani Award awarded by a jury of expert exhibitors as Best Film at the Venice Film Festival, “Confiteor – how I discovered that I would not have made the revolution” will be distributed in Sardinia from 30 October, starting from the cinemas of Sassari, Cagliari, Oristano, Nuoro and Olbia and continuing in many other theaters from the north to the south of the island.
The presentation of the new film written, directed and starring Bonifacio Angius finally arrives in the author’s land after a series of previews in Rome, Bologna, Perugia and Florence and, soon, Milan, Turin, Naples, Pisa, Gorizia, Pordenone and Udine. The screening in Sardinia was postponed by two weeks to avoid creating traffic jams with other films shot in the regional territory.
The feature film is produced by The Kid Movie, Mosaicon e Aggressive Gang with the contribution of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Sardegna Film Commission Foundation, Uci, the Sardinia Foundation and Los Siglos de Los Siglos.
In addition to his son Antonio Angius, alongside the director there are well-known actors such as Geppi Cucciari, Edoardo Pesce, Simonetta Columbu and an important piece of Italian cinema history such as Giuliana De Sio. Then other established artists of the Sardinian scene including Michele Manca and Mario Olivieri and, for the first time on the screen, the young Aurora Erdas.

Angius signs a deeply personal work, which intertwines the most intimate aspect with a universal reflection. “Confiteor”, Latin for confession, is actually inspired by the title of a song by the Livorno poet-singer-songwriter Piero Ciampi, to whom Angius is extremely attached.
The story is that of a man going through a profound personal and family crisis, searching for meaning in a world that seems to have lost all direction. In an eternal childhood, from which everything takes shape and meaning, the boundary between good and evil becomes thin and oscillating.
«It is a story of anger, tenderness, cynicism and fragility. A bitter comedy that constantly transforms into drama and then returns to comedy – says Angius – a story where poison and antidote coexist in the same eyes and in the same bodies. It is the story of a fall and a rebirth, where love triumphs thanks to the innocence of a child: this is the true revolution that each of us should experience. It is an autobiographical film – he claims – born from memories and real people, who I loved. A descent into the darkness which becomes, at the same time, a luminous glimpse in which you can warm up.” On the occasion of the release, the director and the cast will meet the public in the theaters for some special screenings.
After Treachery, Everywhere protect me e I Gigantithe feature film completes an ideal narrative journey. If Treachery it told of the destruction of a family unit and Everywhere protect me the birth of a new bond, I confess it unites these two poles, becoming a metaphor for a cycle that closes and reopens.
