After the success of the solidarity initiative ‘A euro for Irene’launched last spring, i Conad supermarkets of Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia renew their commitment to support Irene fromthe young Grosseto mother who, following a septic shock caused by a bacterium, had to face the amputation of the limbs. Until October 26 in all Conad stores in Grosseto (via Senegal, via Clodia, via Scansanese, Pet Store) and Castiglione, customers will again have the opportunity to donate at least one euro at the time of expenditure, thus helping to support his path of rehabilitation and adaptation. Whoever wants will be able to declare their membership in the cashier at the time of payment.
In the first phase of the initiative, held between March and May, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the customers, 30 thousand euros have already been collected, to which the 10 thousand euros donated by ‘Clodia’ by the employees and members of the supermarkets of Grosseto and Castiglione were added. The sum of 40 thousand euros was paid in the current account dedicated to Irene and opened by the Misericordia di Cinigiano.
“We were affected by the response of the community – declares Alessio Degli Innocenti, partner of Clodia Commercial, the company owner of the Conad stores of Grosseto -. The affection and solidarity have been incredible. But Irene still needs us since the rehabilitation path is very expensive. For this we have decided to relaunch the initiative. Irene has been part of our team for years and for us to remain a duty. Members but also all our collaborators, we will add further 5 thousand euros to what will be collected and donated by our customers “.
