Police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) arrested Juan Jeferson Patiño, 21 years old, of Colombian nationality, and Ana Luz Ruiz García, 32 years old, of Mexican origin, who are part of a criminal group made up mainly of foreign citizens, which is dedicated to granting informal loans known as “gota a gota.”
This type of loan has to do with excessive charges and extortion, in Mexico City, as well as in 12 entities in the country.
Additionally, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, Julio Gabriel García, 24, and Marlyn Dahiana Arango Muñoz, 28, a Colombian citizen, members of the same criminal group, were arrested.
The deployment was carried out in follow-up to an investigation folder referring to a criminal group from Colombia, dedicated to the sale of drugs and extortion in the municipalities of Coyoacán, Iztapalapa, Tláhuac and Álvaro Obregón, as well as in the State of Mexico.
The agents located a property located on Técnicos y Manuales Street, in the Fave Sedena Federal Area neighborhood, in said district, where said criminals operated.
As a result of this action, the officers seized 11 small transparent plastic bags containing a dried green vegetable with marijuana, a laptop, four cell phones, a notebook with notes, as well as 10 advertising cards to obtain money loans.
Additionally, Jeferson Patiño, 21 years old, of Colombian nationality, and Ana Luz Ruiz García were arrested.
The property was sealed and, along with what was insured, is under police guard while the investigations continue.
Additionally, on the street in Serafín Olarte, in the Independencia neighborhood, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, SSC personnel arrested Julio Gabriel García, 24 years old, and Marlyn Dahiana Arango Muñoz, members of the same criminal group dedicated to extortion payments under the “drop by drop” modality.
When conducting a search, they seized 55 bags of marijuana, 63 wrappers with cocaine in stone, a short firearm with three useful cartridges, three cell phones and cash.
