As the strong Siberian high pressure hits our country, bitter winds continue even in the middle of the day.
First of all, the perceived temperature in Seoul this morning plummeted to nearly -20 degrees Celsius.
Even in the middle of the day, the temperature in Seoul is -6.4 degrees Celsius, and the perceived temperature is around -11 degrees Celsius.
Maybe it’s the cold, but the city streets are quieter than usual.
Citizens are hurrying forward, heavily armed with padding and holding warm drinks in their hands.
Currently, the ‘Cold Wave Special Warning’ is continuing, focusing on the central region, including Seoul, and Gyeongsangbuk-do.
In particular, a ‘cold wave warning’ is in effect in some areas of Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and North Chungcheong Province.
This morning was the coldest this winter.
Even in the middle of the day, the temperature will remain at minus 4 degrees in Seoul, minus 1 degrees in Daejeon, and 0 degrees in Daegu, and due to the cold wind, the actual perceived temperature will be more than 5 degrees lower than this.
Amidst the cold wave, about 1cm more snow is expected to fall in the western Honam region until today.
Additional snowfall of up to 10 cm is expected on Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and up to 7 cm in the mountains of Jeju.
Tomorrow, which is the weekend, light snow will fall in various parts of the central region, including southern Gyeonggi Province, and there will be snow in some places in Seoul and western Gyeongbuk.
