From Sincelejo, a corporation founded in 1996 has managed to boost the economy of transport and livestock, formalize union processes and raise the bovine genetics of the department. Its participation in the Omega auction opens new opportunities for expansion and positions Sucreño cattle in the national stage.
In June 2026, the circle of thirty years is closed since the creation of Cogasucre. At that time, the entity will have already marked a before and after in the livestock of the department of Sucre.
Based in Sincelejo, this corporation markets near 100,000 animals a year Through its auctions, on Tuesdays for fat cattle, Wednesday for lift cattle and every fifteen days a special auction for players and heifers.

Cogasucre was founded in 1996 and 17 years ago he moved to his own headquarters that, with his 150 pens, has the capacity to house until 3,000 animals. This infrastructure not only facilitates the operational part, but allows the company to fulfill quickly in the reception, care and sale of specimens.
According to Vergara Arrázola, “one of the particularities we have is that we are very agile at the time of the commercialization of specimens.”
In that sense, the Cogasucre manager assured that Efficiency has become a competitive advantage in front of other marketers in the region.
This is why each auction organized by the company represents an engine for the regional economy. They mobilize between 75 and 80 trucks on Tuesdayreturn on Wednesday or Thursday, generating employment not only for carriers but for families linked to livestock activity.
The multiplier effect covers from food and accommodation to veterinary supplies and diverse services in Sincelejo and nearby municipalities. In addition, each transaction is derived commercial movement that goes far beyond the corral.

Omega the origin
On October 2 will mark a milestone in the history of Colombian livestock with the realization of the Omega auction – the originan event that will gather, for the first time, seven auction companies simultaneously transmitting from the same space.
