Cody Rhodes is featured in the newly released trailer for “The Naked Gun” reboot.

Last year, it was announced that Rhodes would have a “significant cameo” in the remake of the 1988 comedy classic, scheduled for release on August 1. The trailer shows Liam Neeson‘s character slamming Rhodes’ face into a bar, resulting in a drastically different appearance when he looks up.

Liam Neeson takes on the role of police detective Frank Drebin, originally portrayed by Leslie Nielsen in the 1988 film and its sequels: “The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear” and “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult.” Pamela Anderson has been cast as Drebin’s love interest.

“I really am looking forward to what it’s like to tell stories not just in the ring.”

Rhodes previously spoke about his aspirations in Hollywood during an interview on NBC’s “The Today Show” leading up to WrestleMania earlier this year.

Rhodes stated,”I feel like so many wrestlers will always answer this and say like,’Oh,never. No. I’m always going to be wrestling. I love it so much.’ I do – I love wrestling. This is all I’ve ever done, I grew up in wrestling. But for me, I really am looking forward to what it’s like to tell stories not just in the ring,” Rhodes said.”So for me, absolutely, yes.”

Rhodes has also appeared in seven episodes of the show “Arrow,” where he played Derek Sampson,a drug dealer who becomes immune to pain after being exposed to a chemical compound.
