Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. has announced that a playable demo of the Character Creator for CODE VEIN™II will be available on PC via Steam® on January 22, 2026 and on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S on January 23, 2026. A new walkthrough trailer was also released today, focusing on Revenant Josée Anjou and providing a deeper insight into the world and story of CODE VEIN II. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., CODE VEIN II takes players on an epic, story-driven journey as they use time as a weapon, explore the past and present of a collapsing world, and team up with companions through the game’s dynamic Partner System. CODE VEIN II releases on January 30, 2026 and is available to pre-order now on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam®.
The trailer takes players back 100 years, where the protagonist of Revenant Hunter joins Josée Anjou on a mission to save the Sunken City and uncover the truth behind the crisis. Plagued by guilt, Josée’s story reveals the heavy burden she carries and the epic battles that await her. The trailer introduces the Sunken Pylon, a massive dungeon that holds the key to cleansing the Sunken City. As they explore, players will experience combat with seven different weapon types, ranging from agile dual blades to the devastating power of the halberd. The trailer also highlights the Restorative Sacrifice, a mechanic that allows partners to restore the fallen Revenant Hunter with restored health, though there is a cooldown that temporarily prevents them from participating in combat.
Ahead of release, players can play the CODE VEIN II Character Creator Demo starting January 22, 2026. This demo offers 64 save slots that can be transferred directly to the final game. Players can experience the extensive customization system for the protagonist, Revenant Hunter, and personalize their character to perfection with a wide range of settings for body shape, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup and more. Players can also visit the hot spring at the MagMell Institute to view their character in different lighting conditions and use the photo mode to capture and save their creations.
CODE VEIN II features a deep story where players and characters are connected by blood, fate and destiny. It is set in a future where the last remnants of humanity and Revenants battle a world on the brink of the abyss. The player’s journey takes them through haunting, post-apocalyptic landscapes, including the flooded ruins of the Sunken City, the Undead Forest, the isolated MagMell Island, and more. As the story unfolds, players will meet legendary heroes, Revenants, whose fate is intertwined with the survival of the world. The game also features unique gameplay for an action RPG, where players use enemy blood to unlock various powerful abilities, develop battle strategies using Blood Codes, and use unique weapons and equipment called Jails to defeat challenging enemies and epic bosses.
