He spit in front of me and began to hit me ” – a mother from Cluj, assaulted in front of his daughter in the Rose Park
A mum from Cluj told a shocking experience that she lived today with her daughter in the Rose Park, Cluj-Napoca. She said she was verbally and physically assaulted by a man, following an incident started from another child who would have tried to force the little girl’s scooter.
“Today 29.06.25 Cluj-Napoca, Rose Park. I, together with my daughter, came to the Rose Park to give us the scooters. My daughter took it before and arrived in the park before me, because I had to stop a little.”
Arriving in the park, the woman noticed a boy on a bike moving away from her daughter, crying. The little girl told her that the boy “He grabbed the scooter, tried to snatch him from his hands and throw it in the river. When he did not succeed, he began to verbally aggressing it, insulting it.”
Mom intervened and asked the boy to apologize: “I shouted to come to apologize and I told him that this was not done, but he kept a distance of at least 50 meters. I told him to call his father, and he called his father.”
The situation quickly climbed when the boy’s father arrived at the scene. According to the story, he was not willing to discuss civilized. “The father did not want to listen to anything, he immediately began to violate my personal space, approaching me a lot, challenging me and screaming at me:” Close your mouth, leave the park and never appear there! “
The woman’s daughter was crying scared but the man started screaming at her too: “My daughter was crying, and he started screaming at her, saying that she needs a psychiatrist, that it is not normal if she cried when she sees a man almost two meters high, acting aggressively with her mother.”
The aggressor would then have begun to sexually insult the woman: “All the time I was talking dirty about my breasts and said I came to the park to masturbate and seduce boys.”
The woman reported that she was spitting: “He resorted to a lower gesture: he spit in front of me. My reaction was automatic, because he didn’t even intend to take a step back and was stuck to me, so I pushed him. At that moment, he began to hit me.”
The scene spent in front of her child, who was crying and wanted to intervene: “It was extremely difficult for me to keep my concentration because my daughter was crying hard and trying to run towards me.”
The conflict only calmed down after a witness announced that he had called the police. “Until my neighbor shouted that he called the police, that man had no intention to stop.”
The woman also added that the man also made xenophobic remarks: “He assumed that I am Ukrainian and that I have no right here, although he does not know that I am Romanian!”

What the police say about the incident in the Rose Park: it would have assaulted each other
Police officers of Section 4 of the Cluj-Napoca Municipality Police intervened in the Rose Park around 12:40, following a notification regarding a conflict between two persons.
“From the first checks it was found that the two people involved-a 42-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man-would have assaulted each other, against the backdrop of misunderstandings.”the representatives of IPJ Cluj transmitted.
After calming the situation, the police have prepared the procedural documents necessary for the intervention and offered them to both legal guidance. They were also informed that they can file a complaint within 90 days, according to article 289 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
