There are many ways to lose a game, but the LA Clippers found a truly tragicomic way to lose in Houston, suffering their eighth defeat in their last nine games. With still 8.7 seconds to play and three points to recover, Nicolas Batum took the goal kick… but none of his teammates approached him to receive the ball. James Harden in particular turned his back asking for a block from a teammate who never arrived, while Kawhi Leonard‘s attempt to break free was well controlled by Amen Thompson, leading to a turnover by Batum who, almost at the end of 5 seconds, stepped on the line and entered the pitch. A truly strange way to lose, but it explains more than a thousand words how much the Clippers are going their own way at the moment
