The Wesermarsch district is once again championing sustainable transportation with its fourth annual participation in the “City Cycling” campaign, an international initiative by the Climate Alliance.From May 16th to June 15th, residents are encouraged to swap their car keys for helmets and pedals, contributing to climate protection and personal well-being.

District Administrator Stephan Siefken emphasizes the dual benefits of the campaign: Switching from cars to bikes not only considerably reduces our carbon footprint and supports the mobility transition, but it also promotes a healthier lifestyle. This campaign is an excellent chance to re-evaluate our daily commuting habits.

Get ready to explore the Wesermarsch region in a unique way! On May 17th, the district of Brake is hosting the inaugural “History and Enjoyment” cycling tour. The completed word is then submitted on a special postcard, entering participants into a competition. This Rad puzzle
offers a fun and engaging way to explore Elsfleth while testing participants’ problem-solving skills.

The highlight of the month is the Wesermarsch Bicycle Day, scheduled for June 21st on the market square in Rodenkirchen. The event includes an ADAC children’s bike tournament, bicycle coding by the Brake police, children’s activities like crafting and a bouncy castle, and informative talks on climate-friendly transportation.Bicycle dealers will be present, and a tombola and cake sale by the country women of Hammelwarden-Brake will add to the festive atmosphere. The award ceremony for the best city bike teams will also take place during the event.
