The first vice-president of PNL Ciprian Ciucu claims that if he had run for the Capital City Hall supported by the USR, he would win detached, and if he were Cătălin Drulă from USR the candidate, supported by the PNL, then Drule would win “at the limit, but risky”.

Ciprian Ciucu, PNL Mayor of Sector 6, presented on Monday night, at the B1 TV station, some possible scenarios for the City Hall, saying he would win the USR, but also the one in which he had support from the PSD, writes News.ro.

“If I had a candidate, and I would run for me, rather, I or Mr. Băluţă would win the City Hall. If I were applying for me and I would support me, I would win in the fanfare, I tell you the data from the last survey, and if he had a Drulă supported by the PNL, he could win at the limit, but it would be a rising. Mr. Băluţă ”, explained Ciprian Ciucu.

He said that it would matter a lot how rational parties will be in these elections.

Asked about the danger that in Bucharest an extremist candidate would win, Ciprian Ciucu said that in the Capital he does not see such a scenario.

“In Bucharest it would not necessarily be the extremist danger, but at national level it would symbolically give a lot of the extremists. Here the danger is incompetence, because they do not have competent candidates to lead this difficult and complex city,” he added.

About a new candidacy of Gabriele Firea from the PSD: it would be funny. I would not go after the slit

Asked about the version within the PSD that Gabriela Firea would be tested in the party’s internal surveys and that it could be the PSD candidate at the Capital City Hall, Ciprian Ciucu said that “it would be funny”, but that “it would be interesting to run against Mrs. Firea,” reports News.ro.

“There are few mayors who have been in the mandate and have recovered. I refer to the municipalities and big cities. A single example comes to my mind, Mr. Scripcaru from Brasov. He returned to his work, but also supported by a coalition. Mrs. Firea is now in the European Parliament. For me it would be fun. Ciucu.

At the same time, the Liberal Ciprian Ciucu believes that it is possible for PSD to try to protect the “real” candidate of the party in the Bucharest elections and that for this reason, the Social Democrats throw various names on the market.

“I would not go after Fente with Mrs. Firea’s candidacy. PSD may try to protect the real candidate,” said Ciucu.

Asked if the PSD is expected to designate a candidate from the party or from outside, Ciprian Ciucu replied: “Most likely from Mr. Grindeanu’s team.”
