Among the releases for this last Wednesday of 2025, you can discover “Anaconda” in theaters with Paul Rudd and Jack Black as headliners. The opportunity for a new quiz on snakes in the cinema, with nine films to recognize!
Anaconda, the Predator, released in 1997 with a large cast (Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Owen Wilson…), is one of those horror films which were able to mark their decade, and carve out a place for themselves in a genre then in full revival at that time.
So much so that, a rare enough occurrence to be underlined, the feature film itself now serves as the starting point for a new film, Anaconda, in theaters this Wednesday, in which two childhood friends in the middle of a midlife crisis, decide to go to the heart of the Amazon rainforest to shoot a remake of their cult teenage film, before things go wrong and reality exceeds fiction.
To mark the release of this film with Paul Rudd and Jack Black as headliners, we are offering you a quiz on some snakes seen in films. Can you find these nine titles? Before you know it, here are some secrets from filming the film by Tom Gormican.

Fans from the start
Paul Rudd was delighted to collaborate with Tom Gormican, whose A Talent in Solid Gold he adores: “When it came out, I watched that movie four times, I was obsessed with it. It was clever, funny and unique. Likewise, this Anaconda is full of laughter, action and surprises.“His sidekick Jack Black adds:”I was excited to work with Tom and his mastermind, because A Talent of Solid Gold is one of my favorite films.“
Role exchange
The director decided to reverse the roles traditionally given to Jack Black and Paul Rudd, giving the first a rather serious character and making the second the comic spring of Anaconda.
The Amazon in the heart of Australia
While some scenes were shot by the second production team in Brazil and on the Amazon River, the majority of filming took place in Queensland, Australia, whose subtropical climate and ecosystem are reminiscent of the Amazon. To represent the Amazon, the production chose the Tweed River, a river in the northeast of New South Wales in Australia, which flows into the Pacific Ocean. The team also set up their cameras at Mount Tamborine, Hinze Dam, and Tallebudgera Creek.
