This week, actor Christian Skolmen (55) is a guest on Solveig Kloppen’s podcast “Min Barneopddragelse“.
Left her husband half a year after the wedding
In 2007, he met his wife Isabel Ødegård Skolmen for the first time, just before she was to marry another man.
Last year, Isabel opened up about her meeting with Christian, and the turbulent year of marriage, divorce and new love.
– I met Christian just before the wedding and thought: “Shit, this is not good, it won’t work”, because I couldn’t meet that type of person again, because then there would be trouble, she told the podcast “Hanna & the lucky ones”.
Despite the fact that something immediately arose between the two, she consummated the marriage. She tried to stay away from Christian, but after six months they met again.
A short time later, Isabel stepped out of her marriage, and in 2014 she gave her final “yes” to the man in her life, Christian Skolmen.

When Christian Skolmen finally ended up with his beloved Isabel, it came with a huge bonus. Namely Bianca (25), Isabel’s then ten-year-old daughter. But it is precisely the term “bonus dad” that Skolmen is not particularly enthusiastic about:

– I say dad. Yes. I will take that right, he says in the podcast.
Furthermore, he explains that Bianca’s father was not physically present during her upbringing as he lives in Spain. Thus, it was Skolmen who naturally took on the “usual upbringing”, such as helping with homework.

Before these ladies became a part of his life, the actor mostly sat at home and was alone a lot.
– No one had been at my house before Isabel. So then it became both a daughter with friends and a wife and mother-in-law with an Afghan sighthound. And that was really all, he explains.
The Skolmen couple have since had sons Gustav (10) and Fredrik (16). Last year, Isabel left the men in the family to her own devices for weeks when she left to participate in the Farm.
Dot like mom?
Skolmen told TV 2 that the sound level at home changed drastically when his wife left:
– I won’t be funny to say that it was delicious. Because it was just very strange and quiet. It was very quiet, and the kids looked at me and were just like: “What’s going on?”. But we enjoyed ourselves, we, that is.

Skolmen has been employed at the National Theater since 1995, where he made his debut with “The Father” by August Strindberg. Since then, he has played in a large number of productions at several theaters in Oslo.
In addition, he is an established face in Norwegian film and TV. He has most recently been seen in the NRK series “Våre beste år”. Previously, he has played in, among others, “Best before”, “Allerud VGS”, and “Aldri voksen”.
