China Factory Gate Prices: December Decline Slows

BEIJING, January 9, 2026 (Xinhua) Factory gate prices in China showed further signs of improvement in December 2025, with the rate of decline continuing to diminish, according to official data released on Friday.

China’s producer price index, which measures the costs of goods at the factory gate, fell 1.9 percent year on year in December 2025, down 0.3 percentage points compared with November 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

The data showed that the producer price index fell by 2.6 percent over the whole of 2025.

On a monthly basis, the producer price index rose by 0.2 percent in December 2025, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the rise recorded last November.

The data also showed that China’s consumer price index, a key measure of inflation, rose 0.8 percent year-on-year last December. For the entire year 2025, the CPI remained unchanged compared to the previous year. /end of news/
