Chile Fires: Rising Death Toll – Latest Updates

At least 18 people have died in connection with large forest fires breaking out in southern and central Chile.

The fires, which started during a heat wave, have so far destroyed hundreds of homes and forced over 50,000 people to evacuate affected areas.

Due to the situation, President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of emergency.
