Chile Elections Houston 2025: Voting Locations & Polling Stations

by Archynetys World Desk

There is less and less time left until the second round of the Chilean presidential elections is held (agreed for this Sunday, December 14) And the curious thing is that there are many Chileans who do not know where exactly they can exercise their right to vote in Houston (Texas, United States). If that is your case, read this note in its entirety.

First of all, I tell you that you are authorized to vote in the Chilean 2025 elections if you updated your electoral address before the Servel (Electoral Service of Chile) before June 28. If you didn’t do it, it is impossible for you to participate in this democratic process.

Having indicated this to you, I emphasize that the voting locations assigned for this second round correspond to the diplomatic headquarters, that is, to the Chilean Consulatesor venues enabled by Servel in major US cities.

The voting location located in Houston

Precisely, although the Consulate General of Chile in Houston is located at 1300 Post Oak Blvd., Suite 1130, Houston, TX 77056, that is not the address you should go to exercise your right to vote, since the voting location assigned in that state is located at 1330 Post Oak Blvd. Second floor, ZIP 77056.

Schedules to vote in the second round of the Chilean elections 2025

Keep in mind that the polling stations abroad generally operate between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time, following the range established by Servel, although the details may vary slightly.

The specific hours of each consulate or location in the United States (for example, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, San Francisco, etc.) should be reviewed in the official Servel voting location publication or on the pages of each consulate. This is because there is no unified and detailed list of schedules by city accessible in a single public source for all US headquarters.

Other important points

This second round will define the next president between two candidates with extreme positions: the leftist Jeannette Jara (Unidad por Chile), who obtained the majority in the first round, and the far-right José Antonio Kast (Republican Party). Both candidates advanced to the runoff after not exceeding the threshold necessary to win in the first round, with Jara obtaining 26.58% of the votes and Kast 24.32%.

On the other hand, it is important to note that voting for Chileans abroad is voluntary and in person, unlike what happens in the national territory, where it is mandatory. In addition, you will be able to vote in the second round of the Chilean 2025 presidential elections by presenting your current Chilean identity card or Chilean passport, or those that have expired in the 12 months prior to election day. It is important that these documents are originals, not photocopies or receipts.
