20 new ambulances were transferred to substations in 11 municipalities in the region, as well as to the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine. Today Governor Andrei Chibis handed over the keys to the cars.
“I want to once again thank the doctors, paramedics, paramedics, and drivers who are on duty in the ambulance. It is extremely important that they arrive on time so that our teams have everything they need to provide medical care. The ambulance fleet in the Murmansk region is fully equipped, in all municipalities. But naturally, it needs to be constantly updated taking into account wear and tear. The region is working on this in a planned and prompt manner. Thank you for your support to our partners from NOVATEK: as part of the agreement, we agreed that they will update ambulances. A significant part – 20 new machines – will go on line by the new year. And this is very timely, since the New Year holidays are always quite a busy time for doctors,” noted Andrei Chibis.
It should be noted that within the framework of the plan “Live in the North!” In the Murmansk region, the ambulance fleet is regularly updated. There are now 218 modern cars in the region.
The regional Ministry of Health notes that this delivery made it possible to significantly update the fleet of vehicles: now 56.4% of the total number of ambulances operated in the region are no older than 5 years.
“The new delivery includes Class B ambulances equipped with modern medical equipment. 16 of them are based on the GAZelle Next car. The equipment is comfortable and meets all the latest medical standards. The machines are designed to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, perform artificial ventilation of the lungs and other manipulations – everything that may be necessary and done on the road to keep the patient alive. The regional Ministry of Health and all colleagues worked quickly in terms of delivery, state registration and other procedures. The equipment is already on winter tires, and literally tomorrow it will be at its deployment sites,” said Deputy Governor and Minister of Health Dmitry Panychev.
The regional emergency medical service station is represented by 10 substations and 16 emergency medical services posts located on the territory of municipalities of the region, as well as in hard-to-reach settlements. Its structure includes 74 mobile ambulance teams. 53 doctors, 413 paramedical and junior medical staff, and 278 drivers work here. New modern cars are equipped with all the necessary equipment so that doctors and paramedics can provide assistance on the road.
In addition, the region has achieved an important result: the number of emergency medical calls is higher than the Russian average and the indicator for the North-West. This means that our medical workers come to help as quickly as possible.
