The Chat GPT, launched in November 2022, is reported to have exceeded 800 million weekly active users in September 2025. Open AI expects to secure more than 1 billion users by the end of this year. It is explained that as the number of users is growing rapidly, it is responsible as a developer.
Like his concern, concerns about the AI model have continued. Not only is the number of people who complain of ‘AI psychosis‘, which occurs in the process of talking with AI, also made extreme choices for students who talked to the chat GPT earlier this year.
“Every week, 15,000 people make extreme choices every week,” said Altman. “Assuming that 10%of the world’s population talks to the chat GPT, it means that about 1,500 people are still making extreme choices every week after talking to the chat GPT.” He said, “If we had provided better conditions, such as saying better, responding more actively, or looking for someone to talk, we could have saved it.”
He argued that “a legal privilege should be guaranteed in AI conversation, like a dialogue with doctors and lawyers.” Currently, the government has to provide data if the government demands through legal procedures, and said it should improve it so that the government should not be able to view the user dialogue arbitrarily. “It is policy prohibited and legally impossible to sell user data.”
Regarding the copyright controversy, he explained, “I learn the data published in accordance with the principle of fair use, but the result does not allow the work to copy the work as it is.”
He also mentioned the impact of AI on the job market. Oltman said, “Customer support, such as call center, is likely to be replaced by AI,” he said. The programmer’s job group has increased its productivity significantly, but he added that it was uncertain in five to ten years. “Historically, half of the jobs have changed significantly every 75 years,” said Altman.
