Charlie Winston Antibes: Win Tickets | RTL2 Côte d’Azur

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

From Charlie Winston we know his iconic “Like a Hobo”, a 2009 hit, which reveals a strong musical identity, folk and rock at the same time. His fifth album, released in 2022 and co-produced with Vianney, is the most introspective. The English singer appears there without a mask and has never done so much baring. His last tour had sold out dates all over France and more than enthusiastic feedback from each concert. On stage, it’s a real rock show, at once generous, intimate and supercharged! To our greatest pleasure, Charlie hits the road again, his hat tightly screwed on his head, as an eternal rock and folk hobo.

To present his latest album, here is what Charlie Winston said: “The title of my latest album, “As I Am”, has the value of a mantra. It is a way of remembering who I am, what I do, and questioning some of my certainties. What I needed to feel freer. The common thread is letting go, accepting one’s own limits. Being a multi-instrumentalist, having recorded 7 albums and enjoyed success, in the long run you get an idea of myself which deserves to be corrected. I am no longer really a British subject, I have become “Frenglish”. A feeling that has been reinforced by Brexit. My wife is French, I live in France, my audience is based mainly in France, but this is now part of the reasons for acceptance which this record bears the imprint of.

Charlie Winston captured the hearts of the public almost ten years ago. Since then, it has gained in power and gentleness, taking a realistic and yet peaceful look at life. He has the habit of lighting up the rooms where he performs in concert. Dandy chic so British, perfect gentleman and complete artist, he sets the stage on fire and delights a won over audience and knows how to transport a room and create a fantastic atmosphere throughout his concerts, playing with his talent, his simplicity and his humor on stage.
