TikTok creator Charlie Curtis-beard is set to star in The Normal MFer, a 10-episode adult animated series.The show was created by Joe McNaney (a.k.a. “lawl”) and director Alex Orrelle. Curtis-Beard, who recently appeared in Peacock’s The Warehouse Phase, will voice the character “mfer.”

According to co-creator and showrunner Alex Orelle, “The Normal MFer is the show we wish we had in our 20s – absurd, heartfelt and painfully accurate. It’s about growing up in a world that keeps moving the goalposts, and still trying to make peace with who you are. Making it with the brilliant weirdos has been a hilarious and deeply personal ride.”

It explores themes of growing up in the digital age, with a minimalist aesthetic featuring glitchy visuals and soundscapes ranging from lo-fi to EDM. The show delves into loneliness, stasis, toxic masculinity, and the fear of stagnation.

The Normal MFer focuses on mfer’s internal struggles, influenced by influencer culture, AI, and hustle culture. He dreams of fame while battling adulthood from his childhood bedroom. His main adversary is BRAD, an LLM-powered tech CEO prof
