Then there is good news. Google has started rolling out a feature that will allow users to change their Gmail address without deleting and recreating their account.
In December, an update was discovered on Google’s Hindi-language support page that hinted at a new tool to change the primary email address. Meanwhile, an updated English-language support page confirms that the feature will be rolled out this week. Users whose Google Account ends in @gmail.com may be able to change their existing address to a different @gmail.com address. Google emphasizes that this is a phased rollout and that the option is not yet available to everyone.
Google indicates that existing data, including emails, photos and messages, will not be affected by the change. The company does warn that temporary problems may occur when logging in to third-party apps and recommends making a backup in advance.
