Chinese automaker Changan plans to launch its Avatr and Nevo electric car brands in Europe within the next two years.
These plans have been confirmed by Changan Vice President Klaus Zichiora in an interview with Reuters. He stated that the company is ready to analyze the reaction of consumers and evaluate how competitive its offers will be on the European market. He also added that new models will be launched in the near future, which will expand the company’s range.
According to Changan’s previous announcements, the company may consider setting up a plant in Europe to ensure closer ties to the local market.
Changan plans to attract different customer groups with its sub-brands. The Deepal brand will be dedicated to young and active people, emphasizing driving pleasure and modern mobility, while the flagship Changan brand will be family-oriented, offering a variety of practical vehicles. Avatr, which will serve as the company’s premium brand, will offer vehicles that will be priced higher than other subsidiaries.
Changan has already showcased its first models in Europe, including the Nevo E07, Avatr 11 and Avatr 12, demonstrating the company’s ability to provide a wide range of vehicles with different specifications.
The Nevo E07, for example, will be equipped with an 800-volt architecture, offering a range of up to 650 km depending on the battery chosen, and will have a powerful DC charging system that will allow the vehicle to be quickly charged. In addition, this model promises an interesting closed pickup-type rear.
In turn, the Avatr brand electric car will offer even more powerful versions, with a maximum power of up to 425 kW and a mileage of up to 730 km, according to China’s CLTC test cycle.
