KOMPAS.com – Management of PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA), a subsidiary of Chandra Asri Group, finally opened his voice after a viral video of the alleged project of a project worth Rp 5 trillion by local entrepreneurs in Cilegon, Banten.
Legal and External Affairs Director of PT Chandra Asri Alkali, Edi Rivai conveyed an apology for the noise that occurred due to the incident.

He ensured that the company remained committed to continuing the investment in the construction of an electric vehicle battery raw material factory in Cilegon.
“Sorry, yesterday with this project, it made a little bit of noise. Hopefully today it has been completed. We are a joint force to grow Indonesia,” Edi said in an interview recorded by Banten Provincial Public Relations after a meeting at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream/BKPM, in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/14/2025).

Edi explained, the incident had been handled in a joint meeting with Deputy Minister of Investment and downstream/Deputy Head of BKPM Todotua Pasaribu, Banten Governor Andra Soni, Mayor of Cilegon Robinsar, and Kadin representatives.
He hopes that there will be no more disturbance in the implementation of the National Strategic Project (PSN).
“Of course Chandra Asri continues to be committed to investing in Indonesia ensuring this 8 percent (economic) growth can be achieved,” said Edi.

“Our hope in the future is our project that is smooth in accordance with a fairly tight time, which we want to achieve for that innovation collaboration,” he said.
Previously reported, businessmen in the city of Cilegon asked the project rations worth Rp5 trillion to PT Chandra Asri Alkali without going through a tender mechanism.
The request was delivered during an audience with China Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd (CCE), CAA factory construction project contractors, and a number of local entrepreneurs who are members of the Cilegon City Kadin on Friday (9/5/2025).
