The celebration of the three years of formation of the Chad Jazz Education project, coupled with the exclusive screening of a short documentary film retracing this artistic adventure, was held this Saturday, March 28, 2026 in a local institute.
Launched in 2023, the Chad Jazz Education project completed its pilot phase (2023-2025) with results considered very encouraging. By focusing on targeted investment in artistic training, the program has enabled many young enthusiasts, previously lacking structured perspectives, to acquire solid skills in musical practice, but also in project management, teaching and artistic production.
Today, several beneficiaries have taken a decisive step forward by starting to generate income through music. A development which illustrates, according to those responsible for the project, the economic potential of the cultural sector.
“This transition from passion to profession is essential. It transforms a vocation into economic autonomy. In a country where access to employment remains a major challenge for young people, culture should no longer be perceived as a luxury. It is an industry, a sector of the future, a space for job creation,” declared Djim Radé, general director of the project.
Building on these results, Chad Jazz Education is entering a new phase in 2026. This marks a major turning point with the establishment of a structured three-year course, equivalent to a professional license. Thirty young people will be selected to benefit from high-level training combining artistic excellence and understanding of the realities of the cultural job market.
The objective is to train autonomous artists, capable of creating, teaching, producing and making a sustainable living from their art.
For Djim Radé, this initiative goes far beyond the artistic framework: “This program shows that culture can be a lever for dignity, social stability and economic growth. It demonstrates that artistic education, when structured and professionalizing, directly contributes to the fight against poverty and the strengthening of human capital. »
