The news comes specifically from the Samsung Display division, which has long been trying to find new ways to use various screens in modern electronics.
Even with the retro concepts that were seen at the CES 2026 fair, the manufacturer clearly demonstrates that the latest OLED technology does not have to end only with televisions or mobile phones, but can also appear in devices that resemble the era of analog technology.
Two unexpected concepts – AI OLED Cassette and AI OLED Turntable – earned the main attention at CES 2026. As the names suggest, these are modern interpretations of the cassette player and record player, but in the form of devices equipped with artificial intelligence and circular OLED displays.

A new era of experiences
Samsung Display representatives talk about “a new era of experience that is powered by AI and display”. It is at CES 2026 that they want to show how flexible the latest OLED panels can be and what unconventional forms of devices can be created thanks to them.
Next to the expected concepts, such as cute robots or mood-responsive lamps, the retro-tuned novelties seem like a slightly eccentric, but all the more interesting experiment.
The AI OLED Cassette cassette player is built on several small 1.5-inch round OLED displays. One of them resembles the interactive interface known from smart watches, the other is used to display the status of the device.

Above them is an elongated capsule-shaped display that seems to function as an interactive control element, for example for tuning or selecting functions.
The AI OLED Turntable goes even further into retro aesthetics. This concept stands on a large circular OLED display with a diagonal of 13.4 inches and evokes a classic record player. The display is designed as a touch screen, although it is not yet clear how exactly such a large circular screen would be used in practice – whether more for control, visual effects, or as a stylish accessory for listening to music.
The sale is not forthcoming
For now, Samsung is sticking to hints and has not revealed more detailed information about the functionality of these devices. However, it is clear that the goal is not to present finished products, but rather to show how far OLED displays combined with artificial intelligence can go.
After all, this is what the Samsung Display division already showed the year before last at the largest mobile trade fair MWC in Barcelona, Spain. It was then that she introduced the concept of Bluetooth speakers with a flexible display.
However, the futuristic-looking novelty, which attracted a lot of attention at the exhibition center at the time, never went on sale… And it will probably be the same with new retro pieces.
