Central Michigan Chippewas Add Alexa Carter to Softball Roster

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan Chippewas softball team has announced the addition of Alexa Carter to their roster. Carter, a Spring Lake, Michigan native, will join the Chippewas as a catcher/utility player.

Carter’s transfer to CMU comes after spending her freshman season at Purdue Fort Wayne, which recently discontinued its softball program. During her time with the Mastodons, Carter played in 11 games, starting in six. She recorded a .450 batting average and a .900 slugging percentage with nine hits in 20 at-bats, including two home runs and three doubles. She also drew three walks. Notably, against Oakland, Carter had two hits and scored two runs, and against Northern kentucky, she charted three RBI.

In high school,Carter boasted a .440 batting average with 19 home runs, including 10 in 2023. She earned All-Conference First Team honors twice, an honorable mention once, and received All-District, muskegon Dream Team, and All-Region accolades. Carter also received an All-Conference Honorable Mention for Spring Lake’s basketball team.

Alexa is the daughter of Jeffrey Carter and Christi Dreese and has one sister, Kaelyn. She intends to major in business at CMU.

Central Michigan Softball welcomes Carter as the first transfer in the 2025 class, following their best offensive season in program history.
