Macklin Celebrini collected three assists to already reach the 40-point mark and lead the San Jose Sharks to a 6-3 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Monday.

Celebrini became the second NHL player after Nathan MacKinnon (44 points) to reach this milestone this season. He has 14 goals and 26 assists in 27 games since the start of the season. He has collected at least one point in his last three games and has six points during this streak.

Celebrini is also the fourth player aged 19 and under to reach 40 points in 27 games or fewer after Wayne Gretzky (24 games), Sidney Crosby (26) and Mario Lemieux (27).

Tyler Toffoli had two goals and two assists. This is the fifth time in his career that he has collected four points in a game, the first time since March 2023.

Will Smith added three points, notably with two spectacular goals in the second period. He first served cups of coffee to Nate Schmidt and Brandon Tanev to make it 4-2 and he took advantage of a pass from Toffoli to make it 6-2 with his 12th goal of the season with the help of a good shot from the slot.

Pavol Regenda, playing his first NHL game this season, and Adam Gaudette were the other scorers for the Sharks, who improved the score from 3-2 to 6-2 with three unanswered goals in the second.

Lawson Crouse, twice including one on the penalty kill, and JJ Peterka scored for Mammoth, who have lost their last four games.
