Prior to the exams, CBSE has released a notification outlining exam ethics, which include details on dress codes, items permitted, and banned items inside the examination hall.
Regular students must wear their school uniform, while private candidates can wear light clothing. Admit cards and school identity cards are mandatory for regular students, whereas private candidates need their admit cards and any government-issued photo identification.
Allowed Items in the Exam Hall
Stationery items such as a transparent pouch, geometry/pencil box, blue or royal blue ink/ballpoint/gel pen, scale, writing pad, and eraser are permitted. Students can also bring an analogue watch, a transparent water bottle, and items like a metro card, bus pass, and money.
Banned Items in the Exam Hall
Prohibited items include textual material (printed or written), calculators, pen drives, electronic pens, scanners, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, smartwatches, cameras, wallets, goggles, handbags, pouches, any eatable items (except for diabetic students), and any other items that promote unfair means.
CBSE takes strict action against unfair means practices (UFM), which include cheating, collusion, or using prohibited materials inside the exam hall. Students can face penalties ranging from warnings to cancellation of their examination results.
