On Wednesday, the emergency services go out to Sundøya after receiving a report of a lorry that has driven off the road and overturned.
– The accident does not appear to be serious, reports operations manager Thomas Jarnæs Coe in the police log.
iSandnessjøen is on its way to the site, and on the way there several people have been unlucky. Among other things, a waste disposal truck has skidded off the road.
It is one of Østbø’s cars that drives on behalf of SHMIL.
– That’s right, and it wasn’t a serious incident, says Jørn Bakken, who is operations manager for Østbø in Sandnessjøen and Brønnøysund.
– The tow trucks have so much to do that we have to queue. We won’t get our car on the road until tonight, and I don’t expect it to be particularly damaged, says Bakken.
– The emergency services drove past the waste disposal truck on its way to Sundøya. It seemed they had control of the place as they got a thumbs up from the driver. The police therefore drove on, says operations manager Anders Johansen in the Nordland police district to Helgelendingen

On Sundøya, the driver is now being examined by health personnel. So far, everything seems to be going well with the person in question, but the driver is being taken to the emergency department for a check-up.
– When the driver met another car, he had to swerve away and ended up in the ditch, says police officer Susanne Kristiansen about the accident.
The incident happened at low speed, and there does not currently appear to be any major material damage. The truck is off the road and does not cause any traffic problems.
– Heavy haulers have been ordered, but they have had a lot of assignments today, says Kristiansen.
In addition to the recycling truck on Gamle Mosjøveien and the truck on Sundøya, the car salvage has a mission on Simsø.
– Zero driving is a problem, and we are now at this time of year when there can be some traffic problems. We encourage people to take it carefully and make sure that the vehicle is adequately secured, says operations manager Anders Johansen.
The police have now finished at the scene.
