Please note, demoustication operation on approach. The Regional Health Agency (ARS) is deployed on Tuesday a targeted treatment against the Tiger mosquito in Capbreton, in the Landes. Unless unfavorable weather conditions, spraying will take place in the city center and the Notre-Dame district, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next morning.
According to Actu Landes, this intervention follows the report of a person carrying a tropical infectious disease who has stayed in the town. The objective of the maneuver is to treat the places frequented by this person with dengue, Chikungunya or Zika in order to avoid “a local chain of transmission of these diseases”, underlines ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
A very noisy operation, which lasts all night
In each street, the spreading of the insecticide should last about an hour. Residents were informed in advance to be able to take the necessary precautions and avoid any direct exposure to the product. The spraying will be carried out from the public road using a vehicle, “supplemented if necessary by targeted interventions using portable devices in the outdoor spaces of private and public properties. »»
