The synopsis of the film anticipates: “May 2020. In a small town of New Mexico, a heated clash between the local sheriff (Phoenix) and the mayor (Pascal) starts a dangerous escalation, transforming Eddington into a powder keg ready to explode. In an increasingly tense climate, citizens find themselves divided against each other into a spiral of distrust and fear“.
Produced by A24, Eddington will be released in autumn 2025 in Italian theaters with Wonder Pictures in collaboration with Wise Pictures.
The film was written, directed and produced by Ari Aster. In the production team there is also Lars Knudsen, with whom he had already collaborated on the occasion of Hereditory – The roots of evil, Midsommar – the village of the damned and Beau is afraid.
A24 instead dealt with funding and production, as well as being engaged in the sale of international rights for distribution.
