Cancer Recurrence: Lifestyle vs. Medicine

Clinical trial result exercise is more effective than medicine
Cancer recurrence, the risk of new cancer is also reduced by 28%

Clinical trials have been published that exercise can reduce the risk of death of cancer patients to one -third, and is much more effective than drugs to prevent recurrence of tumors.

The British Daily Guardian reported on Monday that it was presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Tteing (ASCO), the world’s largest cancer society in Chicago, and reported that the clinical trials published in the New England Journal contain a breakthrough that can change global health guidelines.

In the world’s first clinical trial for patients with the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Canada, and Israel, systematic exercise therapy can dramatically reduce death, disease recurrence or new cancer risk.

In clinical trials, the researchers observed 889 colon cancer patients from 2009 to 2023. Of these, 445 participated in the exercise program, and the remaining 444 received a booklet for healthy lifestyles. Those who belonged to the exercise group held a coaching session and a guidance session twice a month with a private trainer, and have been active for three years once a month.

Five years later, patients in the exercise group had a 28% lower risk of recurrence or new cancers than other group patients. Eight years later, the risk of death in the same patient was 37% lower than patients who received healthy lifestyle books.

Christopher booths at the University of Kingson Queens, Canada, the chief author of the study, said, “After surgery and chemotherapy, about 30%of patients with high -risk 2 and 3 colon cancer eventually recurrence. “The clinical trial results now provide a clear answer to helping a exercise program with personal trainers reduce the risk of cancer, reducing the risk of new cancer, and helping to live longer.”

Dr. Julie Gralo, the chief medical officer of the American Society of Clinical Territory, said, “When I started researching cancer 30 years ago, I was dominant that I would not overdo it when I received chemotherapy.” “The results of this clinical trial have overturned the existing myths, and I want to say that the movement is better than the medicine.”
