Community Support Fuels Patient Transportation

The UGL’s commitment to patient care extends beyond individual cases. In February, the Uckermark Kurier highlighted the addition of a second patient mobile to their fleet. This expansion was largely funded by the “KW37” fundraising campaign, a collaborative effort with REWE supermarkets. During the 37th week of each year, REWE market managers and their teams in Prenzlau, Templin, and Angermünde, along with 13 other Brandenburg REWE markets, collect donations to support individuals battling illness.

Last autumn’s campaign proved incredibly successful, raising an notable €22,242.90 thanks to the generosity of REWE customers. This funding enabled the UGL to acquire a new patient mobile equipped to transport individuals who rely on electric wheelchairs, further enhancing their ability to serve the community.
