Canada Rugby World Cup Final: Dream Ends

by drbyos

The awakening dream of the Canadian women ended in the final of the Rugby World Cup at 15 on Saturday, during a defeat of 33-13 against the English.

Little intimidated by the crowd of 80,000 spectators at the Twickenham stadium, the Canadian women struck first thanks to a trial of Asia Hogan-Crustee in the 6th minute of play.

The Torontoise gave Canada’s advance for the only time in the match. The Red Roses then largely kept control of the ball, on the way to a 3rd title in the World Cup.

England was also in a seventh participation in a follow -up to the World Cup final. This year, Canada has reached this stage for the second time in its history only. The unifolié also bowed against England in 2014.

We started the match a little too softanalyzed the team captain, Alex Tessier. We were not able to impose our rhythm, we missed some connections. There was no panic in our game, but we did not play our style either and it cost us the victory.

I am very proud of my teammates: we have experienced a very good tournament. We could not finish the work, unfortunatelyshe added.

Canada does not have to be ashamed of its performance after brilliant victories against other powers like New Zealand, reigning champion.

This route allows the country to consolidate its place within the world elite. The Canadian women also won the money in 7 at the Paris Olympic Games, just over a year ago.

Asia Hogan-Crosses registered the 2nd try of the Canadians in the 53rd minute while the English managed with one less player due to a yellow card. The representatives of the unifolié were however not able to benefit more from this numerical superiority.

In the end, they were better than wesummed up Canadian head coach Kévin Rouet. Against England, it is absolutely necessary to mark when we have opportunities to do so, and we have missed a few [occasions] Today.

Some of the elements that made the success of Canada since the start of the tournament seemed to be lacking during the meeting. The Canadian women experienced all kinds of difficulties with their touches, too often giving the ball to the opponent. They were not so dominant during the scrums.

They were able to exert pressure. It is more difficult when the fray does not run in our favor, it made our task more difficult. They must be given creditsaid Alex Tessier, native of Sainte-Clotilde-de-Horton.
