All the autonomous communities, except Extremadura, will be at risk this Monday, January 5 (yellow alert) or significant risk (Orange Alert) due to precipitation, snow, minimum temperatures and waves, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
For example, snowfall will occur in Barcelona, Lérida, Tarragona, Lugo, Madrid, Cantabria, Alicante, Castellón, Valencia, Granada, Teruel, Asturias, Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Segovia, Soria, Albacete, Cuenca and Guadalajara.
In the case of precipitation, the rains will put Murcia, Almería, Granada and Gran Canaria on alert, while the minimum temperatures will put Barcelona, Madrid, Navarra, Guipúzcoa, La Rioja, Teruel, Cantabria, Burgos, León, Palencia, Soria, Zamora, Cuenca and Guadalajara on yellow alert.
In turn, Gerona, Lérida and Huesca will be on orange alert for minimum temperatures that will reach around -10ºC. For their part, coastal phenomena will be activated in Almería, Asturias, Mallorca, Menorca, Gerona (Orange Alert), A Coruña, Lugo, Murcia and Alicante.
The storm ‘Francis’ will leave cloudy or overcast skies in most of the country this Monday, with a general tendency to clear, and with precipitation in the center and southeast quadrant of the peninsula, Ceuta, Melilla and the Balearic Islands, which are likely to be strong and persistent and occasionally with storms in Alborán and the coasts of Murcia.
