Deadly Bus Crash in Brazil Claims 38 Lives

Sao Paulo, Brazil – A tragic bus crash in Minas Gerais, Brazil, has left 38 people dead and 13 others injured. The accident, which occurred early Saturday morning, involved a passenger bus, a truck, and a car.

“We are working to ensure that families of the victims are supported to face this tragedy in the most humane way possible, especially as it comes just before Christmas,” Zema said.

Gov. Romeu Zema mobilized the Minas Gerais government to assist victims, stating that the focus was on supporting grieving families in this difficult time. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also expressed his condolences and pledged federal support.

According to the Minas Gerais fire department, the bus was traveling from Sao Paulo to Teofilo Otoni when it collided with a truck. A car with three passengers was also involved in the accident, but thankfully, all three occupants survived.

The bus was carrying 45 passengers at the time of the crash.
