FC Köln that probably didn’t lessen the relegation worries in the cathedral city. Borussia Dortmund and FC Augsburg probably went into the matchday without any great expectations of up or down. BVB showed the reaction the coaching team had hoped for last weekend; there wasn’t enough from Augsburg to seriously endanger Dortmund’s confident victory. After the small improvement in recent weeks, Werder Bremen suffered a defeat against 1. FSV Mainz 05. You will hear in the episode what role a pigeon played in this! The match day was opened by Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC St. Pauli. The Gladbachers not only celebrated Kevin Stöger’s dream goal, but also slowed down the Kiezkickers’ recovery. The games between Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Heidenheim (1:0) and SC Freiburg against 1. FC Union Berlin (0:1) were relatively unspectacular. As a guest at TSG Hoffenheim, Dieter Hecking returned to the VfL Wolfsburg sidelines and, after three defeats in a row, once again a point for the Wolves. In the 2nd Bundesliga, the snail’s race for promotion aspirants continues: no team in the top five was able to score three points this weekend.
