LAS VEGAS, NV – Bullhead City Police have arrested Ora Ray Carson II, 25, on charges of child abuse and aggravated assault, both crimes linked to cases of domestic violence, in an incident that has impacted the local community.
On Monday, February 23, the mother of a 2-year-old girl appeared before the authorities after finding compelling evidence of the abuse suffered by her daughter. According to the police report, the woman provided a video recorded with her cell phone that showed Carson repeatedly hitting the little girl in the head.
A plan to discover the truth
The mother told officers that she and Carson had been in a romantic relationship for approximately two months. However, during that time, she began to notice an alarming pattern: Her daughter frequently developed “bruises, scrapes and other injuries” after spending time alone with Carson.
Moved by her suspicions, the mother decided to act on Monday morning, hiding her phone to record what was happening in the room before leaving her. Upon reviewing the footage, she discovered the abuse and immediately contacted police.
Police intervention and status of the minor
The agents who responded to the report observed multiple bruises and injuries on the girl that were consistent with the physical abuse described. Carson was located at his residence, located in the 1800 block of Monterey Circle, where he was arrested without incident.
The suspect is currently being held at the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. Meanwhile, the minor was initially taken to a local hospital before being sent to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for a thorough medical evaluation and protective measures.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains open pending final medical results from specialists in Nevada.
