We have practically been with euros for more than 20 years. The fact that it is currently called Lev, we have a fixed course since 1997. Nothing will change. I have watched it in several countries how it is indeed happening. It is nothing dramatic in terms of people’s fears.”

Kuyumdzhiev highlighted the financial benefits for Bulgarian businesses engaging with Eurozone countries. “Because if Bulgarian enterprises, electricity traders, electricity manufacturers realize their electricity in countries where there is euro, it is a amount of hundreds of millions of euros or a year. even the minimum commissions for exchange of the course are very large. Banks, rather of staying in the companies,” Kuyumdzhiev explained.
