“Time tells the charts.” BTS Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ is proving that statement by adding another record.

Jungkook’s first solo debut song ‘Seven’, released in 2023, ranked 155th on Billboard’s ‘Global 200’ as of December 6. It rose 8 places from the previous week and stayed on the chart for 123 weeks, continuing the record for the song that has been on the chart for the longest time among all Asian group and solo singer songs.

In the ‘Global (excluding the US)’ chart released on the same day, ‘Seven’ rose 7 places to 84th.
On this chart, he once again extended the longest record for an Asian solo singer by ranking for 124 consecutive weeks. It maintains records for the longest period of time on both major global charts, showing long-term box office success.

The early achievements of ‘Seven’ have already attracted attention. It ranked first in ‘Global (excluding the U.S.)’ for 9 consecutive weeks, ranked first in ‘Global 200’ for 7 consecutive weeks, and ranked first on both charts simultaneously for 7 consecutive weeks. This remains the first and longest record for an Asian singer’s song.

Based on Billboard’s official website, Jungkook has been on the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding the U.S.)’ charts for a total of 258 and 307 weeks, respectively. Additionally, ‘Seven’ ranked first on the US main single chart ‘Hot 100’ upon its debut and stayed there for a total of 15 weeks. It also ranked 3rd on the UK’s official main single chart ‘Top 100’ for the first time, and became the first K-pop solo singer to stay on the chart for 14 consecutive weeks.

‘Seven’ records continue to be broken on streaming platforms as well. It has stayed on Spotify’s ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart for 125 weeks, the longest among Asian solo singer songs, and its cumulative streaming has exceeded 2.663 billion times. Based on the debut song, the record was also granted for exceeding this number at the fastest rate in the world.

BTS Jungkook’s personal statistics are also being updated. Recently, cumulative streaming based on total Spotify profile credits exceeded 10 billion (before filtering). This is the record achieved in the shortest period of time among Asian singers, and the first among K-pop solo singers.

Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ goes beyond the flash of buzz at the time of its release and is continuing the unusual path of continuously updating records on both major global charts and streaming services.
