The Boston Bruins posted an exceptional offensive performance Saturday night at TD Garden by crushing the New York Rangers 10-2.

Marat Khusnutdinov and Pavel Zacha were the great architects of this historic success, each scoring the first hat trick of their NHL career.

Khusnutdinov had a memorable night with four goals and an assist, while Zacha scored three goals. This is the first double hat trick achieved at home by the Bruins, a first since 1964. The ten goals scored also represent a high this season for Boston.

David Pastrnak distinguished himself by distributing six assists, tying a franchise record. The Bruins (24-19-2), who have won four of their last five games, were also able to count on Fraser Minten, author of two goals and an assist, as well as Charlie McAvoy, scorer and assistor. In net, Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves.

The meeting was, however, marked by the premature departure of Morgan Geekie, who left the ice after the first period for family reasons.

On the New York side, Mika Zibanejad and JT Miller saved the honor. Jonathan Quick gave up six times on 20 shots before being replaced midway through the second period by Spencer Martin, who stopped 10 shots. The Rangers (20-20-6) were never able to match the intensity and offensive efficiency of the Bruins.
