Anthony Ramos Recalls “Terrifying” Madonna’s iPad Use During Hamilton Performance

NEW YORK – Actor Anthony Ramos has shared his recollections of an encounter with Madonna during a 2015 performance of Hamilton, expressing his unease at her behavior.
Ramos, known for his roles in both acting and singing, remembered seeing the “Like A Virgin” singer in the audience during his time with the Lin-Manuel Miranda production. He played the dual roles of Philip Hamilton and John Laurens.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens live! with Andy Cohen,Ramos described the Queen Of Pop as the most “terrifying” celebrity he encountered during his Hamilton tenure.He specifically called out her alleged use of an iPad throughout the performance.
“The most terrifying was Madonna, with her iPad in her face. she was like this the whole time,” Ramos said, mimicking her gaze downward at the device. “I was like: ‘Damn, shorty. If you’re not enjoying it that much, you know the door’s right there? You ain’t gotta stay here.'”

Ramos concluded his run in Hamilton in November 2016.
His comments echo previous rumors surrounding Madonna’s 2015 visit. lin-Manuel Miranda himself fueled speculation when he tweeted about banning a celebrity from backstage for texting during Act Two.
miranda posted on X/Twitter: “Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act Two) backstage,” adding a ‘#NoSelfieForYou’ hashtag (via Playbill).
While Miranda didn’t name the celebrity,many speculated it was Madonna,who was known to have attended the show around that time.
Miranda never confirmed the rumors. Madonna’s publicist issued a statement to Us Weekly, stating: “It’s not true.She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post-show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.”
