Center Addresses Practical Needs
The idea for the center for training and Disaster Protection (ZAK) had arisen from a very practical need: The previous headquarters of the BRK district association in Arno-Jacoby-Straße increasingly came across its spatial limits in view of the constant growth and increasing demands. Today, among other things, the quick-use group support, central administrative areas and various management functions in nursing and social services are housed, as well as a generous apprenticeship. According to BRK,the operational readiness and punch of SEG care, which is led by Michael ammer and his deputy Sebastian Wagmann,is an indispensable part of the regional disaster protection. It is always used when people have to be looked after, cared for or accommodated at short notice – be it with evacuations, fires, storms or major events.
Along with numerous honorary and full-time employees of the BRK, the inauguration of the BRK also included government president Rainer Haselbeck, MDL Mia Goller, BRK district chairman Hans Rampf and also other representatives of the BRK, the Austrian Red Cross of the police, fire brigade and technical relief organization as well as the planners, specialist companies and service providers involved in the construction.
