Personally I don’t care about who is cast, but what bugs me is when the actors and scripts don’t match the books. By all means write new characters but it’s pretty much a slap in the face to the artists who created the characters. Bridgerton 4 was supposed to be basically Cinderella, a white girl in slavery. Writing over stories where white people were slaves and were wronged, is the same as what is happening outside of fiction too.
She’s a pretty actress, and just like the actress proposed for Helen of Troy it’s got nothing to do with their talent and individual beauty, it’s simply about erasing the characters as they were written.
I mean you wouldn’t go and paint over Mona Lisa’s features would you?
