Brewing Gadget’s dual cone dripper – a dripper that enables real-time blending
Brewing Gadgets, a leading equipment distributor in the Middle East specialty coffee market, has introduced a new type of dripper that will be unveiled at the upcoming World of Coffee Dubai. This product, called the Dual Cone Dripper (Binocular Dripper), is an approach that redefines the structural limitations of existing foreover drippers.

Brewing Gadgets is a premium distributor that has expanded its influence in the global specialty coffee equipment market beyond the Middle East since it was founded in Dubai, UAE in 2011. In addition to supplying equipment to baristas, roasters, and cafe operators, Brewing Gadgets also carries out educational programs and community events with the direction of ‘learning through tools.’
The biggest feature of the dual cone dripper scheduled to be released by this company is that it uses a dual cone structure, i.e. two cones within one dripper. Each cone operates as a completely independent brewing device (dripper) and is designed to brew different coffees simultaneously.
The core concept implemented through this dripper is ‘Wet Blending’no see. This is not a method of mixing coffee after extraction, but a method designed to allow different coffees to meet during the extraction process itself.

The dual cone structure allows baristas to combine variables that were difficult to implement with traditional foreovers. You can dose 12g into one cone and 8g into the other, different grinding particle sizes can be applied, and the amount of water and pouring speed can also be set differently. This means that two completely different extraction conditions operate simultaneously within the same dripper. This creates a structure where different flavor layers are formed step by step within a single cup.
If you look at the official recipe example released by Brewing Gadgets, Honduran Geisha Natural Anaerobics is placed in one cone and Colombian Geisha CM is placed in the other cone, at a ratio of 60% and 40%, respectively. The amount of water and number of pours are also set differently for each cone, and the grinding is also not the same. This composition is not a simple blend, but is closer to individually optimizing the conditions that best reveal the strengths of each coffee and then naturally combining the results during the extraction process.
Patent for improving extraction setting sensitivity based on layered dosing grinding function
This approach is often described as a ‘layered blend’. The bright acidity of a specific coffee appears first, followed by the texture and sweetness of other coffees. Unlike blends that are mixed after extraction, it can be seen as a method that maximizes the narrative characteristics of pour-over in that the flavor develops over time.

The development of this product was a direct reflection of the barista competition experience of Mariam Erin, who leads Brewing Gadgets’ R&D and training team (see Instagram video tag above).
What’s interesting is that these barista competition-based technologies are designed with everyday brewing environments in mind. The dual cone dripper is designed to allow you to experience the effects of the dual cone with just a basic recipe, while assuming a high level of understanding. The concept of wet blending can be accessed without complex equipment or special skills, and it has a structure that allows for progressively more variables to be handled depending on the user’s skill level.
The concept of the dual cone structure and wet blending appears to be one of several attempts to bring the knowledge accumulated in specialty coffee from the barista competition stage to home brewing. I am curious to see how the concept of wet blending will resonate with regular coffee lovers following its official launch at World of Coffee Dubai in 2026.
