A Brazilian man was arrested in Roma. Tests showed he had taken 48 cocaine capsules. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 30, at Fiumicino Airport, the main gateway to the Italian capital.
The passenger, whose identity was not released, drew Border Patrol attention because he appeared nervous and avoided eye contact as he disembarked.
Authorities found no illegal substances in his possession but decided to send him to a hospital for evaluation.
An X-ray examination confirmed the presence of the drug in his body. In the following hours, the Brazilian eliminated all 48 capsules.
After the initial investigation was completed, he was arrested and handed over to the Italian justice system.
